Devils Open Season Friday Against Strong Chiefs

August 18, 2013

Lincoln County will open its 2013 varsity football season this Friday at home against the revitalized McCormick Chiefs.

After a 24-0 whipping at the hands of our Devils last year, the Chiefs went on to win 10 of their next 12 games. Their only two losses were to eventual SC Class A State Champions: 42-7 to Christ Church in the regular season and 38-26 in the finals to Cross.

The McCormick team is expected to compete again this year, as it returns much of its talent, including an experienced quarterback. It did lose its head coach to Class AAAA Aiken, but interim head coach and former offensive coordinator Bryan Buffkin has his team expecting another trip to the finals.
