Truitt Dill was a lifelong Red Devil fan. Here is the nomination by Jean Hanvey:
I would like to nominate Dan Truitt Dill to the Hall of Heroes. Truitt attended school in Lincolnton and never missed a single day of school for the total 12 years. He attended every football game in and out of town. In the Washington game he would sit with his daughter Marsha on Wilkes side in full Red Devil attire. His daughter lives in Washington and is a school teacher there. He loved and supported his daughter in that game by sitting on her side but Red Devil all the way. This past game Marsha decided not to attend the game since it would be her first without her dad.
