Donnie Hill was another of Lincolnton's unsung heroes that worked behind the scenes to help the Red Devil football program.
Donnie was the school's first cameraman, starting in the early 1960's and continuing for about two decades. Over the past many years video tape and camcorders have made recording games much easier. But when Donnie started the effort, it required filming the games, then getting up early Saturday morning to drive to Augusta to get the film processed. The coaches would then use the film to correct problems and prepare for the next game.
Donnie's son Mark Hill (Class of '79) is now a Red Devil assistant coach. Donnie's granddaughter Amanda is a senior cheerleader in 2002.
