I would like to nominate my father, Norris Ware.

Norris played on 3 state championship teams at Lincoln County. He won state titles in 1960, 1961,1963. The 1962 team was state runner-up. Dad played linebacker and tightend in the years at Lincoln County. Until an injury to his shoulder, he was rumored to be headed to Presbyterian College to play football.

Lately dad has moved back to Lincoln County. He and his wife have opened a store besides Bells Supermarket along with his auto parts store in Crawfordville. Dad found out last year he had cancer of the kidneys. He worked all the way up to his surgery. He then had a kidney removed that was cancerous and [unfortunately cancer has been found elsewhere]. He is a prime example of the perseverance and dedication it takes to be a Red Devil football player and a role model for his grandchildren.

Christie Bryan and Todd Ware are his children. Christie is a teacher at Lincoln County Middle School.
