David Edwards quarterbacked the Red Devils to state Class B titles in 1976 and 1977, winning 26 straight games.
Dewayne Evans, a football manager in the mid-70's and a member of the Class of 1978, nominated classmate David Edwards:
Dave started as quarterback for the 1976 and 1977 Red Devils and led them both to undefeated seasons. What was amazing was that many said David was too short and too slow, plus he was also left handed. [There's] nothing wrong with being a lefty, but many didn't give him the credit he deserved those years. I have lost touch with David, but when you think about and realize how he lead those teams as the "coach" on the field he truly is worthy to the Hall of Heroes.
