Seminole County brings a streak of 3 shutouts when Clinch County visits in Donalsonville this Friday, but the Panthers have not allowed a point in 4 games. This could be a defensive struggle that decides the top 2 spots in Region 1-A. Hawkinsville travels to Turner County in another tough 2-A game.
In Region 7-A, Twiggs County visits Aquinas, Hancock Central heads next door to Milledgeville to play GMC, and Warren County travels west through Eatonton to play in Monticello. The home teams probably won't be having a good night in those three games. The four 7-A playoff teams will come from Twiggs, Warren, Hancock, Wilkinson, and our Devils.
ECI should continue to roll into the playoffs as the Bulldogs host Bryan County. Lincoln County fans should keep an eye on ECI, as our Red Devils and the Bulldogs could face off in the quarterfinals should both teams win their region and first two playoff games.
All-private Region 5-A starts slugging it out this week with Landmark Christian visiting Fellowship and Eagles Landing Christian at Whitefield Academy.
Jefferson visits Social Circle in a key 8-A matchup. Commerce and Athens Academy have an easier time this week.
Region 6-A is taking the week off as Bowdon, Bremen, Trion, and Gordon Lee prepare for region games to decide playoff spots. In the first round, 6-A teams will play our Region 7-A.
In other area action, Washington-Wilkes, now 6-1, hosts Putnam County. Thomson hosts Glenn Hills.
