Week 4: Devils Off, But Others Have Big Games

September 20, 2006

Our Lincoln County Red Devils have this Friday off to prepare for their Region 7-A opener against Aquinas next week, but other teams have a tough slate of competition.

Warren County travels to Jefferson to take on the Dragons. Twiggs County hosts Bleckley County, which barely lost to Hawkinsville last week. Aquinas also has an open date this week.

Johnson County, embarrassed by ECI last week, has another tough chore this week as the Trojans travel to Dooly County. Hawkinsville hosts Telfair County. Both games are between Region 2-A teams, but from opposite subregions.

Top-ranked Bowdon hosts Greenville, which moved down from Class AA and are expected to a factor in Class A this year.

Social Circle, off to a 3-0 start and ranked in the top 10 for the first time ever, should win again as the Redskins host Whitefield Academy.

Undefeated Commerce, coming back strong after a somewhat down year for the Tigers, hosts Trion on Saturday night.

Thomson, now 3-0, hosts Hephzibah while the 2-1 W-W Tigers host Dawson County in a game against a Region 8-AA opponent from the other subregion.
