Quay Hartfield rushed 10 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns, with QB Javon Reid running 6 times for 101 yards and two scores. Hartfield also had a great long TD run nullified by a flag. |

Kickoff delayed until Sat at 1:00 due to Hurricane Hermine rain/wind on Friday. Class AAAAAA Grovetown largest school LC has played. Three G players played for Aquinas the year before, but returned to G when Aquinas ended paying scholarships.

Abbeville entered game 3-0 and #1 in SC AA, had having given up no offensive TDs in their first 3 games. They were the defending SC AA champs.
Good runs setup 3-yard run by Javon Reid with two minutes left in the first quarter. Quay Hartfield and Jamal Norman were lost to injuries in the first half. Abbeville scored on 1-yard run in final minute of third. In fourth, both teams were pushed back to their 2. The Devils got out of their hole and threatened at two points before a final minute interception almost led to a winning TD by the Panthers. The returner was ruled out of bounds at the LC 27, and the Devil defense forced a field goal attempt that failed. |

LC led 7-0 early and then 19-18 going into the fourth but special team errors and an interception led to the final margin. The Devils played without their two leading rushers, and their ground game was almost non-existent.
On the positive side, the Devils passing game looked the best in a long time, spurred on by several long passes. |

Greene County Homecoming. Devils jumped to 14-0 lead before Tigers closed to 14-7 at the half and then rolled over the Devils in the second half. Turning point was a fake punt by Greene. Tigers had almost 400 yards offense, with their main back gaining over 200. First time Devils played a regular season game on artificial turf. |

Second time LC has beaten W-W twice in a season (other was 2005), and third time the two teams have met three times in a season (other was 1922). |

Kickoff dealyed from 7:30 to 8:00 due to blown tie on chartered bus with players. Team didn't arrive until about 6:45.
